Re: ahhhh yeahhhh!
A buddy sent me this when I was trying to figure out what I have now....
366T = 3.935" x 3.76" 396 = 4.096" x 3.76" 402 = 4.125" x 3.76" 427 = 4.250" x 3.76" 427T = 4.250" x 3.76" 454 = 4.250" x 4.00" 496 = 4.250" x 4.37" (2001 Vortec 8100, 8.1 liter) 502 = 4.466" x 4.00" 572T = 4.560" x 4.375" (2003 "ZZ572" crate motors) T = Tall Deck ALL production big blocks used a 6.135" length rod. So the 454 would now be really, a 460 Can someone confirm this? What is the calculation?

Re: ahhhh yeahhhh!
hahahah I agree with the 460 being "gay" sounding. I was more curious about the calculations for displacement. He was building the engine to put in his sons blazer but the son lost interest and went to Nissan 4x4's! geesch! So I helped him out by taking it off his hands.

If your bore went from 4.250 to 4.280, the calculation would be 2.14²*pi*4*8 It comes out to 460.39, so I guess you could call it a 461 so it doesn't get confused with a Furd.

Re: ahhhh yeahhhh!
hahahah I think 461 sounds even worse! Thanks for the calc. I'm not planning on any badges (keepin' it under the radar until the light turns green) so I don't have to worry about finding any 461 badges....... hahahha

Re: ahhhh yeahhhh!
Over the years I have noticed that a lot of people put Chevy engins in Fords but I never really see any people putting Ford engins in Chevys.

That says it all right there. I really do not think you will see a tag on a Chevy saying: Chevy tuff with Ford stuff.
