Anybody tried ACETONE in their fuel yet?
There are a few articles out there about putting small amounts of ACETONE in your fuel tank and getting Waaaaay better mileage.
http://pesn.com/2005/03/17/6900069_Acetone/ Has anyone tried this and if so, how much better mileage, What about risks? Anybody?

Re: Anybody tried ACETONE in their fuel yet?
Isn't acetone in fuel injector cleaner as well? I run a bottle at least once a month and check the mileage on all my tanks.... very little to no improvement. There was a thread started on here last year about this and several people tried it, don't remember the results....

Re: Anybody tried ACETONE in their fuel yet?
According to Numerous articles out there, adding 3 ounces per 10 gallons of fuel will show a noticeable increase, and they especially recommend it for vehicles that are carburated.
When I saw this, I looked a bit deeper and wondered why I had never heard of it before.

Re: Anybody tried ACETONE in their fuel yet?
Acetone does desolve glue such as contact cement. Not sure about the dilution in fuel.
Have to check out the injector cleaner for contents.

Re: Anybody tried ACETONE in their fuel yet?
actually acetone helps the fuel atomize better so you get a better/more complete burn (something to do with surface tension)
