Electrical Gremlins
Hey Everyone, I have a 72 C20 that has a blinker issue. When the headlights are off everything is normal and works great. But when I turn on the headlights, or even the parking lights the drivers side blinker either blinks very very slow or not at all. The passenger side works fine all the time! I've changed the bulbs, even replaced both headlights (been wanting to upgrade) but nothing seems to work. Any Electrical gurus out there have any ideas?
As always your help is appreciated. Thanks Ken ------------------ Ken Floyd 72 C20 350HO 82 Honda Silverwing 2001 Silverado

Sounds like a classic case of "Bad Ground"

If you have a dirty ground, the parking light may take all the ground it can handle, and not let the blinker work.
To check this out, pull the amber lens, and just run a wife from the neg post on the battery, and touch it to the light bucket with the headlights on and the blinker on. ------------------ '69 G.M.C. 350/350. I have found that if you run a ground on the back of the dash. There is a small screw under the speedomter that has no cicuit board attached to it, and run a ground wire to it and to a good ground it will keep a lot of those grimlins away. It works for me on my dash.

I had some strange dash light trouble also
(no dash lights with headlights on ; fuel gauge erratic; etc.) Pulled the main harness from the circuit board and used sandpaper one the prongs and also on the exposed copper of the circuit board where the harness meets. This rermoved some corrosion and all problems solved. ------------------ 1970 short bed fleetside
