Hello from Canada, eh! (sorta long)
Hey guys,
Just registered to the board, Im from Vancouver Island in BC. At the moment I dont own a Chevy but should by this time next week. Currently I own a slightly modified 94 Dodge Dakota which is currently for sale. Anyway about the truck Im buying. Its a 1976 C10 SWB 2wd with a 1969 Beaumont 307. It has JUST been painted Wimbledon White, which is why its not in my driveway right now. The current owner has been restoring it for the last 3-4 yrs and needs to pay for some renos on his house. He just got it painted when he ran out of money and needs to sell it. So anyway, I got a chance to look at it at the body shop w/o the owner around and had a chance just to talk to the body man. He told me it was bare metal and was an almost complete teardown, only left the cab on from what I gathered. He also said there is no rust and that it had steel plated welded in were there was. It currently has no bumpers, grill, mirrors, door handles, or lights which I am waiting for the owner to put on to buy. The owner said his work partner took ~80 hrs to strip it down to bear metal and do all the metal work. He is going to be showing me some pictures soon to show all the work that he has done to it. Im paying $4000 CAD or ~$3400 US. Seems like a pretty good deal considering the only other one that has been fully restored around here (total frame off though) is wanting $11 500. So what do you guys think? Later Ian |

Sounds like a good buy if it is as the seller says. Good luck and welcome to the board.
