Updated pics & Time stands still.
Boy, now that I look at it, I really haven't done all that much.
Lets see.... Side markers are gone. Fender badges are history. The inner fenders have been raised 3 inches. Fuel lines have been redone with braided ss and AN fittings. DSE Selecta-Speed Wiper Kit QA1 shocks Drive shaft and pinion brake hooked up. Currently working on putting a popper to open the tailgate (no handle inside or out) And currently trying to find a spot for the pop up fuel cap.???! Things to do this winter..... Build some control arms Get that damn front cross member off the ground. Get the doors ready to shoot. It seems like I never have time to work on my truck. And when I do have time I usually would rather work on someone else's project or I just don't feel like messing with trucks and cars at all. The inspection sticker on the windshield says this project is starting to drag on. Almost 4 years! It's not burn out or lack of motivation........I just shouldn't have let it go this long. And winter time sucks for doing bodywork.

Re: Updated pics & Time stands still.
Compare to your earlier pics, it looks like you're going in the opposite direction.
I dig the mods that you've made so far. Cool. Custom but subtle. With the amount that you raised the bed floor, it would be trick to use actuators to swing your tailgate open and closed. Then place your fuel cap on the rear side (behind the tailgate) below the floor bed (thru the rear xmember?). Keep up the great work. Sick..Sick..Slick

Re: Updated pics & Time stands still.
Don't feel Bad Frank. My is going on 6 years and I made the mistake of taking mine apart. At least you still have a truck there. I have the same problem you have, I would rather work on someone elses. I keep finding things I want to do different than the original thought, so it keeps growing. I need to get on the ball.. Thanks for the progress pics.

Re: Updated pics & Time stands still.
Hey frank
If you don't mind sharing, how much do you have wrapped up in those wheels? Once mine is all done I'd like to get a set of larger wheels so that I don't have to drive on ET streets all the time, and it's a tossup between those and the Rodlite XP's.

Re: Updated pics & Time stands still.
Thanks everyone for the complements and support.
I love this forum! Now let me try and answer some of your questions. Canadian Trucker how did you raise the inner fenders? and is your truck bed higher then regular too? Cut out an arch 3" higher and welded the inner fender to the outer fender. The inner fenders do not come out anymore. The bed floor is 7.5" higher. Laynlow77 where did you get the rear qa1s from? Summit. They are #HAL-STS1574PX Boxrodz Compare to your earlier pics, it looks like you're going in the opposite direction. It feels like it as well. actuators to swing your tailgate open and closed. ??? Hey! I'll have to look into that Thanx! 75silverstep .What Color Are You Looking At.. Right now the gray you see will be on top and a dark gray or black at the bottom and some fine line (silver) to separate the two colors. But hell, all that could change tomorrow. hehe. Captkaos I keep finding things I want to do different than the original thought, so it keeps growing. Holly crap Chris! It's like we're the same person! EFI, Pro-touring and can't get our projects done. 1987Shortwide If you don't mind sharing, how much do you have wrapped up in those wheels I got a killer deal from my buddies at NTB. I think it was like $2100 out the door.

Re: Updated pics & Time stands still.
im not sure what size wheels i want for my truck."20's all around or"18/"20s
like you have . what are your feelings on the size you chose? do 18/20s work for you or would you have rather gotten 20s? what are the pros and cons? |

20s up front wasn't the look I was after with this truck. I almost went with 18s all the way around and coil-overs instead of bags. I'm shooting for a little different look for this truck. It's called Pro-Touring. Low but not too low and sporty. Think of a truck you can Auto-Cross with. That's the look I'm after. Hey, don't think that I don't like big wheels. We put them on all sorts of things. Just not this truck this time. The look of a bagged G-machine (PT) below.

I love the Pro-touring look that 7T7 is going for. If and when I can ever afford new wheels for mine, they'll be either 17"-18", or 18"-20" combo. I just don't know how well 20's would hold up if I put alot of power to them... More than likely they'd just eat up tires...
