how much dynamat is needed to cover the cab floor??

I want to buy some dynamat (or any other sound deadner) . How much should I get?? Im thinking about 40 to 60 sq. feet but Im not sure how much to get. I want to cover the cab floor and put a little on the inside of the doors. Thanks any advice will be appreciated.

I used 70 sq ft on mine, this included the floor, firewall, rear cab, and roof. Here is the article I wrote.

If you haven't already made up your mind about which product to use, I suggest you take a look at RAAMmat BXT. It comes in rolls of 62.5 square feet and that was plenty to do the floor of my truck. It's a lot less expensive than some of the competition.

bigblock73 and evan, Have you guys driven your trucks since installing your sound deadeners? If so, how would you compare the interior sound levels to, say, a new car or truck? Nice article by the way.

Mine still isn't up to the same quality as a new car or truck. That is my goal too, but I realize now that it's gonna take more work. To get a cab that quiet the doors will need to be done too. If you are replacing the door skins I would suggest lining the inside of both parts of each door with deadener. The other loud part is the wind noise in the windows, so that means that fancy new one piece window kit is on the wish list. I'm hoping the first people to try it report back that the new seals around the windows are "new car" air tight.
