cab dimensions

I am looking for cab dimensions for a 1970 GMC, I have a factory assembly manual but it has no frame dimensions. The one I am interested in is the measurement between the front cab supports. I am like everyone else replacing cab supports, rockers etc. The drivers side is pretty much gone but the passenger side isn't to bad that I could'nt measure from and use those measurements on the drivers side or is this my best bet.

Re: cab dimensions

I was not sure what dimension you needed but what I understood was you needed the measurement between the two front support bolts. The center distance between the two front cab mount bolts is 40 7/8".

If there was another dimension that you need I can get it for you before 10:00 AM. tomorrow. After that we will have the cab back on the frame.

Re: cab dimensions

Thanks Jim but the measurement from the inside edge of the front cab support the flange that butts up against the inner rocker across to the other side, or I guess the center of the hole on the frame which the cab supports mounts to the edge of the inner rocker flange. Maybe i'm thinking to deep on this as I measured the passenger side using a piece of wire and compared it to a parts truck I have and they are about 3/16 different, should I go with the measurement on the passenger side of truck.

Re: cab dimensions

I measured from the center of the bolt hole to the inner rocker (along the bottom of the cab support) and the left side is 12 7/8" on this truck. The right side is 13". The supports have been repaired but hopefully the measurements will help.

I reread my post and noticed that I had posted the wrong dimension so it has been edited with the correct dimension.

Good luck!

Jim
