Talking A new look of the 87 Stepper

I went up to north Fla. where i keep my truck at this week end and i tried this out i didn't like it at all the wheels just don't have enough beef to fill up the wells. CaptKaos you may like i know you have a set of SS wheels.

I also installed my new polished door sills

Re: A new look of the 87 Stepper

What size tires do you have? I want to go down another 2" on the rear, but I have BFG P275/60's R-15's and if I go any lower it will rub the inside of the fender. If I cut the lip out of the inside of the fender it may clear. I don't think mine has enough either. I would like to have 50's. I like the rims you have.

I like it, are the tires the same size as the Impala SS?

I actually think those wheels look sharp on there. The only angle that hits me a little wrong is the "straight on" rear shot. I'm sure that you're just used to those huge rears you had on it. Funny how much a different set of wheels can change the look of a vehicle isnt it? Thats a fine looking rig no matter what wheels you have on it...corn

Re: A new look of the 87 Stepper

Nolowride, The tire size for my regular wheels is 265/50/15 front & 275/50/15 rear. The front tires dont hit but i did roll the fender lip but all the paint is there still there the front tires will rub the tops of the wheel well tubs if i hit a really large bump/dip in the road but thats pretty much a normal thing for lowered trucks. In the rear i didnt have to do anything to the fenders and theres no rub issues at all. The rims in the pic's are 17" and just for pic's only i just to see what the truck would look like with them on it. they are off of my '99 Tahoe.

CaptKaos, Yes the tires are the same as the Impala SS and there BFG 255/50/ZR17. Now you have an idea of what Sue will look like

Corn, Thats why i took that shot i don't like that look from the back and these wheels also makes the truck sit higher when i got in it, it felt like it was back to stock ride higth that felt wierd i guess if the truck were lowered 5/8 they would look good on there.
