Crank pulley/frame cross member clearance
Can anyone tell the approx clearance between crank pulley and front cross member?
I can't even get the fan belt out and something tells me it should be more clearance there. The only thing I can think of is sagging motor mounts, but they do not really look that bad. It is a 2wd 71 3/4-ton with 402 big block but it got the 72 style big block motor mounts. Thanks.

Re: Crank pulley/frame cross member clearance
Here's a picture of my 70 model that I swapped to big block. Lots and lots of clearance.

Re: Crank pulley/frame cross member clearance
Yes sir, big blocks mount in forward holes. That's where mine are in the picture above.

Re: Crank pulley/frame cross member clearance
Tx Firefighter: Thanks a lot for the pic.
I can see there should be a lot of clearance. Maybe the cross member has been bent at some time on my truck. I don't know how it should be shaped but it looks (from Tx pic) like it shouldn't be bowed very much if looking at it from one side or from above. Can anyone tell if this looks right or wrong? Thanks

Re: Crank pulley/frame cross member clearance
I have the same issue on my 67 c10. Did anyone have a root cause and fix for this ? I think I have a 454.
