58 box on a 70
i found a guy today cleaning out his yard full of trucks mostly 57-59 chevy trucks and a couple panel delivery vans. theres a 58 long box stepside with good fenders and a pretty solid box.i was thinking of getting the box to put on my 70 lwb. i think the old trucks were narrower so im not sure... im just wondering how much modifying would go into swapping the box.. its just a thought.??????????????????????????????

Re: 58 box on a 70
short stepsides were the same width and the same length back to about 55. The mounts in the rear vary by about 1".

The bed will work. Not sure about the fender/wheel alignment within the rear fenders. Your wheels may look off center with the fenders in the stock location. Everything else should match and bolt up fine.
