How does the spare tire mount in a 72 GMC?
I purchased a spare tire bracket for my 72 GMC 1500 Longbed. I don't know if I have all the parts I need. Does anyone have a picture of how it is suppose to mount and install? I can't find the details about it in the manual.

How far in from the back bumper does it mount? I'm not sure that I have the holes in the frame rails.

You need the carrier, the "wing" nut shown in the foreground of the attached picture, rear 1/2" diameter bolt which has a rectangular head to keep it from spinning when turning the "wing" nut, and front (9/16" diameter?) bolt. I've seen an additional bracket over the "wing" nut for extra security, but I don't know if this is necessary.
