What is a good price ?

I looked at a truck today that I am interested in . Only problem is that he wants me to make an offer . It is a 1979 GMC 35 Sierra Classic. It is a single wheel one ton , 350 , 4 Speed (L-1-2-3) ,with tilt steering and Air cond. 2 tone blue truck so I like the factory colors . It has been used ! It will need front fenders and a driver door and pretty much all of the interior replaced . Fenders have rust and door met a falling tree limb . It might also need a bed since I couldnt see the floor for the gravel , fence post, etc. I am sure a dual tank long bed isnt hard to find and I have a pair of dark blue GM door panels for the 77-80 top line trucks and a Gm dashpad that are new . It has 175,000 miles and was filled with rats nests since he took it off the road 2 years ago and it has been sitting in a barn . It is definitely a project but the single wheel one ton with 4 spd and 4.10's is kind of neat . How rare are these trucks and what would you offer ? Frank

With it being a 1 ton and a regular cab not too often do you see them but not sure about how rare. If it didn't run but with everything there to get it running I would say on a high side $1500. But I would start at about half that being it's in a barn and the damage that you mentioned.

Re: What is a good price ?

I have a 75 - 76 model single wheel 3500 in my out door parts department. It is pretty well been picked over but if you get it and need anything let me know. I'd say $500 to start.

I'd say between $500 and $1k...those trucks aren't all that rare, or desirable
