2WD Conversion How Hard Is IT?
OK I started this thread about 3 hours ago and power went out about the time I was going to submit it. Should be a sign huh? Anyway I have a line on a 71 that is supposed to have a very nice body. Don't know why I am interested my other one is in my shop torn apart waiting on me to put in replacement panels. Just wondered what it takes to do conversion, costs, etc. Guess I have been inspired by Luv Can't have too many right? Thanks for input ahead of time.

Re: 2WD Conversion How Hard Is IT?
Not very difficult at all. You could use a variety of 2wd front crossmembers if you would like from 71-87 chevy truck, blazer, or suburban. In the rear just flip the rear axle on top of the leaf springs and presto. 2wd blazer at half the cost probably. Of course you will have to get rid of your 4wd tranny and transfer case and such, change transmission bolt in tunnels. Pretty straight forward from there. Of course if you go with 5lug front end it would be a good idea to go 5lug rear end as well.

Re: 2WD Conversion How Hard Is IT?
Thanks qksilver but it's a blazer. Reread my post and I didn't specify that. Hope to end up meeting you someday anyway. Maybe I'll need something you have one of these days.

Stuff is still the same..........blazer or pick up, what you will need is a complete front suspension including crossmember, trans mount to start

Take it from someone that has too many projects... forget it and finish your '71... I wish I would have taken my own advise on this. My eyes get to big for my wallet sometimes.

Very cool Kyle. Looks like they do nice work - especially your ride! Do you know a ball park on how much some of his products are?

Re: 2WD Conversion How Hard Is IT?
I want to say 1500.00 for the bolt in crossmember but you would have to call Nathan. The crossmember uses your stock a-arms and a mustangII rack. You can use bags or springs I believe. Mine should be driveable in a couple weeks and I will post some more pics..
