im curious what kinda setup to run or is going to be hard because its on leaf springs

sup man,
I'm not the bags guru here but you have 4 choices for the rear. Air over leaf and 2/3/or 4 link. Then after you have decided what to run, there's ready made sets from air ride technologies or easy street. There are also places that build them from scratch. As for what you want depends on how much money and what you are going to do with your truck.

I have the air ride air over leaf system on my s10 that uses mono'd stock leafs and it is pretty good. I got a chance to test it with a load of tables and chairs (I would say about 500-600lbs worth) and it just squatted and took the load. Downside is that I get some rear hop. So if you have a v8 in it or maybe even a v6, you may want to go with the links.

If you have more questions, check out the sportruck.com forums. There are alot of great guys (some are dealers so you'll get alot of info) on the board.

OK, here's the skinny on BAGS. I had a 72 with leaves, that would almost lay frame on 17's, about 1" off the ground.
Just cause it is leafs doesn't make it harder.
#1 Try to avoid the mono leaf it causes bad wheel hop as Jay dawg said, I took my full stock leaf pack (including the overload spring) to a local spring shop and DE-ARCHED them a full 5".
Flip kit to relocate the rearend on top of the springs, 2" shackles, and a BIG C-NOTCH if you wanna LAY FRAME.
The front is a snap, 2.5 drop spindles, and bags and your done it will LAY OUT NICE!!! Check out my store in my sig, I can hook ya up. Here's a pic of the 68 UNDER CONSTRUCTION

What exactly would a person need to do the bags? I am looking at maybe just baggin' the front for now and later on do the rear. What do I need? I would want a very small compressor and tank. What do you recommend and how much do you think it would run. If you can shoot me a price.

air ride and easy street both make kits for our year trucks. what you need depends on what you want to do with it. Check out their websites and they should give you a list of what is in their kits. Also, Nsane caters to our year trucks and could probably give you a list of things.

Air Ride Technologies offers a 100% bolt-on kit for the front---Cool-Ride kit. The OEM shock mounts are used as well. For the rear, a weld-in 4-link using F9000 air bags would be best. QA1 billet aluminum adjustable shock absorbers would be next. Top it off with the ARC4600 4-way RIDEPRO MAX system, and you would have an awesome setup!

Reliable, durable, quick, and etc.. Not a crappy setup using AIM/Chassis Tech components.

Here is the ARC4600 compressor system!

LowC10 forgot to mention onw thing..... the PRICE! It's very expensive to just go out and buy the top of the line bolt on kit. I bought my stuff from AIM and pieced together a system for a lot less than what a kit costs. Just remember, kits aren't the only option.

Ok I set back and kept quite for a while.
I have used CHASSIS TECH suspension components for over 6 yrs.
I am now a authorized CHASSIS TECH DEALER, along with many other companies including DJM, FIRESTONE, DOESHTECH, TOXIC SHOCK, ect. ect. I have NEVER had any problems of my own, nor have any of my customers. I have built over 10 custom vehicles over the past 6 yrs, some mine and some my friends, and ALL WITH CHASSIS TECH PARTS.
I will stand behind all the parts I sell 100%. I have been a member of this board for a while now, long before I was a vendor. This board is like my extended family, and I would not sell so called CRAP to a friend or family member.
I am currently putting together a kit to offer to board members, that will be about $400 dollars cheaper than the afore mentioned compressor kit, and mine will be a COMPLTE KIT.

The complete kit I listed would cost around $3,500. Remember, you get what you pay for. This has been my experience with AIM/Chassis Tech---Poor quality! For instance, look at the terrible welding on the new "World First" 1-5" adjustable shackles!

That looks horrible!

From their adds, insane shipping prices, and poorly designed products---I have nothing good to say about them!

P.S.-Their "Super C" notches are very stout though! That is one thing I would purchase from them.

Sorry, if I upset you! I understand where you are coming from. Personally, I would rather spend the extra money and purchase a quality setup from ART---Who supplies air suspension components from commercial grade trucks, to $75,000 hot rods. There is a reason they are #1. Check this out for another happy AIM customer. The third person who replied lowered his F-150 4/6" using their LCA's and flip kit/shackles. I don't want to imagine installing an air suspension setup from them!

NSANE....I would like to do a bare bones install with bags on my ground up resto. I am going to need bags for the front and back. Do I need any special brackets? I can pretty much get the 1/2 inch lines and fittings here locally. I'm looking to just get the suspension together and get the lift and drop from my home compressor via a bulkhead connected to a manual switch paddle. I probably only need f/b or maybe I can just use a one needle guage paddle for up and down doing the resto. Can you shoot me a quote for the bags and anything (ie brackets) that I may also need?

I am sure the other company you mentioned has had thier fair share of upset customers, it's all in how it is handled to make the customer happy and a repeat buyer.

i personaly think that AIR RIDE TECH. is a bunch of B/S..................................the under do alot of stuff............and u need to study ur truck and figure out what ur gonna do w/ it before u go and spend 2,500.00 - 3,500.00 for kit...........................................why buy a "kit" when u can make it and be much more prouder?

It's all in the name---ART is a company that bases their products on ride/handling. If you want lift, purchase an AirLift setup. My point: ART manufactures the BEST components that are designed for your application. Not 1 size fits all. There is nothing wrong with a kit that is 100% bolt-on/weld-in. Plus, you are guranteed years of trouble-free operation from ART. They install their components on test mule vehicles, and evaluate them for many thousands of miles---In many conditions. They continue to improve, and the customer is reassured a reliable setup. I will not continue to argue over this!

I'm interested in bagging my truck as well. I have a '69 LWB coil rear truck. Is the trailing arm setup fine to use with airbags? I see all the talk of 4 links and stuff and it makes my wallet want to run and hide. I don't really want to lay the frame...... I just want something adjustable like airbags provide.
