Baby's got new shoes

I got new tires for my 68 stepper a few days ago. 255/60/15 front, 275/60/15 rear BFG Radial T/A's. Now I just need to lower it.

Re: Baby's got new shoes

Nice truck, it looks great just the way it is. I lowered my 69 and I am looking at putting some 18in panthers on my rig. After seeing yours black I am almost thinking about keeping mine black. How are you going to lower yours?

Re: Baby's got new shoes

I've always used your truck to imagine my final product. Only difference would be lowered as you mentioned you may be doing. That's one beautiful truck! I think lowering would only add to it's beauty, only not too much, maybe the 2.5"x4"

You know you're not too far for a trip to Jackson next weekend!

Re: Baby's got new shoes

Thanks for all the replies. I have a 1"front/2"rear drop now. I'm thinking of using spindles and 4" rear springs to give me a 3.5/4 drop. I love steppers with a little rake to em. Alvin's chop is about what I want. Thanks, Alvin!

I may start restoring it this winter. I don't think I'm gonna go back black. I'm thinking of using Atlantic Blue Pearlcoat from the new Dodge trucks. Everyone thinks I'm nuts changing the color, but they don't have to clean it. I've had the truck 6 yrs. now, and it's always been black. I'm ready for a change. I want to brighten it up.

Zumo, they set me back about $400.

Joker, I'd love to make it to chikenwings cookout, but I'll be going to Maggie Valley.

No problem. It's been brain-numbingly slow at work lately so I thought I'd take a few minutes and see if it was possible to make that truck look any better. I think lowering it is about all it needs. The color change is a good idea. To me the 67-68's look great in blue. And blue won't get dirty before you're done washing it!

If you want a medium shade, the new Toyota trucks have a bright blue that looks great.

Re: Baby's got new shoes

How do you get the rear white "CHEVROLET" letters on the tail gate? Are there templates or decals or is it up to the body man's skills?

Re: Baby's got new shoes

The letters were painted silver when I got it. Most truck parts suppliers sell sticker sets in white, red and chrome. I have a set of chrome letters somewhere.
