Engine numbers
Ok, my turn, I eiother need the link, or need some one to look this one up, it doesn't sound right to me.
This is the 350 in the GMC, I know it is a later engine, (5.7 is cast on the bellhousing) but these numbers sound odd. It has 2 codes on the machined pad. The top one says 70726FRS Then, under that, in smaller and not as deep, it says CF8796728 Any help would be apreciated. ------------------ '69 G.M.C. 350/350. those just don't sound like casting numbers to me. did you get them off of the top of the rear of the engine right next to the tranny bell housing? (most of the time only a wire brush will uncover them unless the motor has been out and cleaned with in the last few years)
