A stock '68 grill on a '69 longhorn????
Has anyone ever seen this kind of thing before? The only case that comes to mind is Fast's old dump truck, but it only had a few features from the previouse year...not everything.
This is a portion of an e-mail I got from a Longhorn owner the other day. I am waiting for him to share his V.I.N. with me. I suspect it to be a very early '69. Like within the first couple hundred. Quote:

I was refering to your '68 with the '67 arm rests and stuff.
The title and vin match, I am waiting to hear back from him. As for '68 Longhorns...213 one tons, and 1902 in the 3/4 tons. He says it has the 50'th paint scheme too. ------------------ '69 G.M.C. 350/350. he got it from the original owner, and he said nothing about that. Also, the Longhorn badge is in the '68 location...which is a one year only location.
I'm thinking the 50th interior package was only in '68 too...but I am unsure. ------------------ '69 G.M.C. 350/350. Now I'd like to see a picture of THAT Truck! Sounds like a 68 Longhorn with 69 or later trim to me.

the other odd thing is the fact that the trim on the sides has the woodgrain...which says '69 to me...while the rest of the truck says '68... Completely confuzed here.

Hay launghoarn.....y doant u lurn houww tooo spell, I will no doubt get my A$$ kicked off this board but I'm sorry, longhornmail apparently seems to know EVERYTHING and dominate each subject about every truck produced. There isn'nt a thread to which he (or SHE) has not chimed in to. And if that isn't enough, he (or SHE) starts a separate thread because of boredom. He (or SHE) is evidently THE only individual who knows how to post pics, this is a huge SECRET to the rest of us and we are left hanging with our E-THINGIES. Do what you will with this post Mr. Administrator I hope it gets veiwed. It is pretty simple to me either you are E-Smart or have a TON of wanna-be money.

71GMCstreet...that was uncalled for. Not trying to get in the middle of this, but not gonna sugar-coat it either. This board is here to help one another. Longhornmail asked a question...he didn't chime in on anyone's post. This was his post from the start.

Longhornmail is sometimes helpful, but usually long winded and beats his own chest. I get the impression that most of his post are made just so he can get his post count higher.

Longhornmail is very helpful and an assett to this board!!! Sure, he posts alot, but he has alot of valuable information to share!! If I knew everything, I wouldn't need to come to this board, I come here to ask questions and usually get good advice. When I can, I answer someone elses questions. I for 1 apreciate all the advice Andy has given, both in topics I've posted and have gotten answers from topics others have posted.

everyone has thier own areas of expertise, obviously some people here are going to be english teachers. This is a TRUCK board, NOT English class. Now, I don't see you adding anything to the thread. Debates over whether something happened or not is cool, because we're trying to get to the bottom of it. You guys just seem to be compensating for a lack of truck knowledge by showing off how good you are in spelling bees.

I'll admit, my spelling isn't the best, however, sometimes, I spell things like that for effect.
Quote:
Yes, I have alot of posts, yes, I do read 90% of the threads, and I do respond normally with prudent information and a little humor that I feel most of us enjoy. I will ocasionally get into a heated discussion, but, I have the respect to not bash people on here, (I'll e-mail some one if I honestly have a problem) and I will be the first to admit if I was wrong on something. Also, I will say it in the post if I am not 100% sure of what I am talking about. I do not talk out my @ss, and do not want anyone thinking this. I came here to learn. I have learned more than I ever figured I would. Now, since we have so many people here that are fairly new, it is my turn to share the information I have. Just like some of the others whom have moved on with there lives and do not visit here vewry often. I feel welcome here, and I do feel I helped alot of people. Actions speak for them selves. I get E-mail all the time with a personal thanks from board members, or people who are not members, but have been reading 'in the shadows'. Between this site, the other 3 I belong to, and my 2 web sites, I normally get about 50 e-mails a day. 99% are positive. If you have a question, post it. Almost every question gets answered. Be it how to do a mod, or how to post a pic. On posting pictures, if you were to explore the site a little, you would see it is posted in the FAQ section. ( http://67-72chevytrucks.com/board/ub...ML/000003.html ) The Freephoto-i link at the top of your screen is an easy to use on line photo host that many of us use, that will host your pics. Yahoo, geo-Cities and Angel-Fire will not host them. Also, if you were to look in my signiture, you'll see I am willing to post pics for anyone on here. I have posted 12 oics in one thread for one person. I go out of my way to help this group of people sometimes. 71GMCstreet, if you have any more questions for me regarding my posting habbits, or anything you feel is not sutible for this forum, e-mail me...it's in my signiture. ------------------ '69 G.M.C. 350/350. you rule longhornmail, you too fast68chevy,i think its cool that longhornmail mastered posting pics and gladly accepts pics from others to post, yall have helped me alot and i havent even really started my project yet, everyone needs to quit *****in, i used to go to HOTROD.com's tech forum for my engine probs, but the people on that one fight on who is the smartest and who knows more about whatever, thats why i like this board, because i can always go onto it and learn something, keep up the good work longhornmail, and who gives a sh!t about spelling too, Baradium is right on, later "YALL", sean

Geez dude, what did Longhorn ever do to you? Just because he wants to be helpfull and post pics for people(ALOT of people don't know how to post them) you have to bash him? It's not like he is posting dumbass remarks on every topic, he offers valuable input.
