Blazer Vs. Pickup bed patch panel diff?

Alright, delving deep into the rust repair on my blazer. Bedsides came off, then the bed floor came off and is sitting on some woodworking horses in the garage, extracted all the broken off bolts and other hardware, patched some holes that either need to be re-drilled or won't be used again (I'm ditching my roll bar).

I drilled all the spotwelds for the rear cross sill and pulled it, and was about to start patching up the holes in the back floor when I realized that the bed floor patch panel I had was not aligning with the crests and valleys of my blazer's bed floor. My patch panel is from goodmark, says "67-72 Chevy C10 bed floor" on the sticker. Now I'm faced with some confusion and dilemma -
Did the pickups have different spacing on the crests/valleys of the bed floor?
Did someone maybe slap the wrong label on a bed floor patch for a newer/older truck?
If the blazers/jimmies had a different bed floor pattern, where can I get a panel to cut up & weld in to fix my damaged bed floor?

No just the only patch panel available is not very good.
You need a old pickup bed as a doner

SO "None" of the patch panels are worth using? Why doesnt anyone make anything better?or is this specific to bed floor patch panels? I need to replace the area behind the doors on both sides..........should i search out useable factory steel?

Specific to the bed floor most other patches are workable

I would like to see a picture of this of the bedsides removed and floor removed. That would be a sight to see!

Re: Blazer Vs. Pickup bed patch panel diff?

Here's some pictures of what's currently being done.

Bedrepair30small.jpg is a picture of the blazer sans bedsides with the bed floor still bolted in place. I *was* going to just do rust repair on the bed like this but decided against it.

DSCF006Small.jpg is a picture of the bed floor panel sans body bolts with rear sill still attached sitting in the garage next to one of our tractors. The sunlight you can see under the sill is because of the holes back there. Yeah I'm a bit ambitious.

DSCF0018small.jpg is a picture of the bed after I drilled out all the spot welds and removed the rear sill, and unbolted the reinforcement plate for the rear seat. Old cross sill on the garage floor, new cross sill on top of the bed. Here you can see just how extensive the rear floor damage is.

well your screenname is onetonk5, I gotta wonder what you have for axles, lift, tires, etc since I don't see a signature with all the cool info in it

Mine's a 3/4 ton right now, 14bff & 8 lug D44 from a wrecked 78 chevy K1500, at least its 3/4 ton till I find a D60 for it. No lift, 31" tires on AR 8-lug mags

Re: Blazer Vs. Pickup bed patch panel diff?

Ochre, back when GeeEmm was still posting he used the front 6" part of a blazer floor (with the floor support) and cut down a regular pickup floor for all the rest. He said it didn't match up real well and he had to massage it quite a bit to make it look decent.

He had pics but I think they have all been wiped out, if I can find any I'll post them...

Re: Blazer Vs. Pickup bed patch panel diff?

my old 89 k5 had a d60 front 14 bolt rear 4.56 detroit....highsteer/crossover steering. Worked very well in the rocks was a little too wide sometimes but i could stuff it into some tight places.i had a 2" body lift and some heavily modified 6" springs and a shackle flip in the rear with stock blazer rear springs.i ran my 44's on 15x10 18 bolt beadlocks
