interested party for 5k for my truck, need advice(not a for sale post)

I was moving my boat yesterday to it's new home. A guy that works down the street and drives by my truck everyday stopped and said he was interested in buying my truck. It's not really for sale, but everything has it's price. I've put alot of money into this truck over the six years I have owned it, It's a really sweet running and driving truck, I've rebuilt just about all of the mechanicals on it, engine/trans, wiring, supension, new gas tank,lines,brakes,ect... while driving it daily for 4 years, I haven't driven it much lin two years, but it is my first vehicle, I don't need to sell it,I have way more money in it than it will ever be worth, I would just buy something else, but even after all of the money I have put into it it is still just looks like crap, i want to fix the rust, paint, and interior, but haven't had the skills/tools/space to do it yet. I have a welder now and a have been practicing, I just don't know what to do. 5000 is alot of money for my truck, I wouldn't pay half that, but I also payed 500 for it 6 years ago and did front brakes and drove it for a year, before it started sucking money from me. I guess i just need the you will regret it later speech and get started on the rust.

Can you replace it for $5k? If so, sell it, if not, keep it.

How far has the rust gone?
What's it going to take to repair?
Do you have the time/ambition to see it through? (really)

What I'm getting at is this:
If you take the 5K from the sale then add to it another 5K
(approx $$ you could spend doing body work/buying parts and paint)
then maybe buying something 'done' for around 8K-10K could make sense.

Option two:
Invest your time, learn the skills, enjoy the build and keep it.

Pictures would help us help you. I am real bad about keeping stuff so I would more than likely tell you to keep your truck.

Sell it. Buy another in CA for less with Zero rust and running well. Buy a one way ticket and drive it back to seatle. May break even but the truck will not need as much work.

Funny you should bring that up, Not long ago i made a post with every single blazer for sale in CA. I was planning on updating (since there are new ones by now, every day).... I can say for a fact that it would have saved anyone interested 30-45 min worth or work or more... ask how i know

I still have the list if anyone wants, (prices, pictures, link) but i'm not even thinking about making another post as far as blazers that are for sale and the cost of blazers go ,etc etc. That's too taboo

Quit jacking this thread. You have PM.(which you can read 7 days from now)
That was nice of you to edit your thread since it wasn't in the Blazer board anymore btw, just thought I'd compliment you on that.
