Guy's with bags, what lower A Arms you running????
I'm in the market to buy some Lower and Upper control arms, so I'm looking for some that I can hopefully bolt my bag straight to. What are you guys all running?
Air Ride Strong arms? Chassis Tech/AIM? DJM? Western Chassis? |

I'm running stock A-arms too. I would avoid Chassis Tech/AIM at all costs. The arms may work just fine, but there is a high probability that they will screw you on the transaction....

Re: Guy's with bags, what lower A Arms you running????
Yeah I'd like to run the factory ones but I left a few things out, I plan on doing the 1.5" crossmember drop and as I was checking things out I think the part that would hit the steering linkage would be part of the lower A-Arm and if they were tubular I would gain like 3/4"-1". I'll try and post pics of what part of the a-arm I'm talking about. I think I'll end up getting the Air Ride Strongarms.....Thanks guys....

The linkage will not hit the lower control arm. It will hit the frame and the steering sector WILL hit the upper control arm.

I run ART Strongarms, and for the money, I just wouldnt run em. Stock arms with small cups will work just as good. Just tack the cup into the arm.
Dont get me wrong, my arms are super nice and beefy, they do wonders for my alignment too, but very spendy. Just have a set of stockers powdercoated

Re: Guy's with bags, what lower A Arms you running????
Which bags are you guys using when you take out the bottom cup? I have a 4" Z and just found out that my suicide doors plate/cup combo wont work. I am running slam specialties rs-7 bags, and it looks like if I dont run a bottom cup that the bag is going to rub the sides of the control arm where it sinks in. My friend with a 4" Z told me to run 2.5" cups on top and a 1" cup on bottom.
Tonight im finishing the last part of www.loweredd.com reccomendations on bodydroping/ "Z"ing the frame. I am gonna trim 2" off the bottom of the frame under the cab, and then I should be resting rocker firmly on the ground. then I can measure for my cups. BTW....anyone know whatever happened to loweredd's truck? his page hasnt been updated in a while lol. |

Re: Guy's with bags, what lower A Arms you running????
Hey I know we have discussed this before ,I decided that OEM arms are the way to go BUT I have a bad balljoint sleeve in the arm so I need to replace it.I called up LMC {in which i always do buisness with} and the only OEM A arms they have are C-20 and I need C-10.........So my question is to those with bags were the hell can I get A OEM/REPRO arms at?
UPDATE: I have found were you can a pick up a single lower control arm for 73-87 C-10 trucks. After an exhausting serch with local dealerships and such ,I came up DISCONTINUED and I did find a place which we are all familiar with .Yearone http://www.yearone.com/serverfiles/f...ain2.asp?cat=C . The only thing is it takes 1-4 weeks to get Last edited by nivimar; 08-08-2006 at 12:06 PM. |
