59 frame swap question...
After reviewing our options, me and my build buddy think a newer frame is in order. The question is, which frame is the best for a 59 swb stepside?
1) S-10 pickup frame 2) S-10 Blazer frame 3) Full size Blazer frame All the above would be mid 80's. Were not too sure about our welding abilities for putting in a 79ish camaro subframe like ive seen done before so the frame swap is our best bet... Any input will be appreciated! Thx, J

Re: 59 frame swap question...
Frame swap has been answered. I picked up a 81-82 blazer frame (Ithink that's what he said) for $150 today. It had a 59 apache on it at one time. I guess my next step is to start the "official build thread"...

Re: 59 frame swap question...
Hey,
If you get a chance, could you measure outside to outside on your Blazer frame, just infront or behind the motor mounts? Thanks |

Re: 59 frame swap question...
The frame tapers at that point. It should be close to 30.5" rearward of the mount tapering to 28.5" in front of the mount with 29.5" across the motor mounts. I put a 75 C10 IFS into my 58 thats the only reason I know.

Re: 59 frame swap question...
so whats the good and bad about doing this swap i measured my blazer wheel base and remember it being shorter than my 58 ? how much trouble is putting the 59 body parts on this frame?
