Last Crossmember
Well I got the truck back down to the frame last weekend and I noticed for the first time that I may be missing the last crossmember in the frame.
It is a SB stepside coils. I have the crossmember over the axle then a few inches behind that an C shaped member and that is it. Should I have another at the very end of the frame? Any pics of one so I could see. Any chance someone has one laying around if I do in fact need one? Thanks!

There should be 1 that the tracking bar is attached to then approx. 20" back there should be a spare tire brace and then 1 about 3 to 4" from end of frame.

I have the one the tracking bar attaches to but I think that is it. I don't have the one on the very end. What is weird is I can't tell from looking at the frame that someone has removed it.

I have the crossmember you need, it's the one that the tail light harness goes through. Still in the frame. If interested email me and I will send you a picture of it.

thanks for the info. I am undecided on the tank. I would love to move it under, but I am just not sure I have seen a set-up for a step side that makes me go "yeah, that is what I want!"
I do need that last member that the tail light harness goes through. I will e-mail you Gary, thanks! ------------------ 2001 GMC 2500HD Crew Cab Duramax, Allison, 4WD, Love it 1971 Chevrolet 1/2 ton 2WD Short/Step Side. In process of frame off restoration

I would say no, you dont need the crossmember for the harness.......but I would put 1 there for the integrity of the frame. You can adjust the position,or build your own to clear the tank if needed......69
