All my book says is;
307, 302, 327&350 heads from '62 - '70. Sounds liek a garden variety to me. Take them to the machine shop and get hardedned exhaust seats put in. |

What date code? Depending on the date (engine application), they could be valuable to someone needing a particular date to match their engine.
If not mistaken, my 65 300 HP vette uses 461s. I might could use an extra pair with Oct-Nov 64 dates...

I had the same question recently . . . Mortec.com lists them as 62cc heads, but my rebuild book says 64cc. Here's the thread on the subject:

I have a set of 461x's according mortec they are;
3782461X...60-63...283/327..Camel hump,no accessory holes,larger 172/64cc port volumes, 62cc chamber These are 2.02's and have bronze guides. stainless valves, screw in studs, and guide plates, and have never been touched with a cutter or grinder. cast dates are D11 2 and D17 2. can't decide to keep em, sell em, or trade em.........oh well, maybe just hold em for now??? |

ebfabman I have a question maybe you can answer, on your heads they have stock Screw In Studs ?? I thought all Fuelie Heads had Pressed in with Bronze Guides!! I do know there are some that came with 2.02 Intakes and some with 194!
I do have a set of 462 Fuelies that I am running on my 68 and all I will say is they are great heads but be warned they will give you High Compression (even with a Flat Top Piston). Might not flow as well as a Vortec but these heads make horse power though!!

The only 461 that would have had screw in studs might have been the '68 Z/28. I dug through my Corvette books, but couldn't find info on valve size in print, but if memory serves, the 2.02/1.6 valves didn't show up until 1965. Factory 2.02 heads have an "unshrouding" cut made around the intake valve that bites into the side of the combustion chambers. You seldomly see this in aftermarket installed 2.02 heads.
