2WD vs 4WD
I'm putting a new radiator in my rig and i cant figure out if the radiator hoses (upper and lower) are the same from 2WD to 4WD. They have different part numbers at the auto store but they only have 2WD hoses. Anyone no the answer.....are they the same?

Re: 2WD vs 4WD
If a blazer is like a pickup, on 4x4s the engine is further away from the radiator. I think the bottom hose sometimes has to be trimmed on a 2wd so you might get away with it but who knows. I think I would find a store that had what I needed in stock or just have the correct parts ordered. Of course if you gotta get it going yesterday, do what you gotta do!

Re: 2WD vs 4WD
The four wheel drive, regardless of truck or Blazer has the motor sitting closer to the fire wall than a 2 wheel drive. Stock upper rad hoses on a 4x4 are also 2 piece rubber hose with the metal sleeve above the fan.

Re: 2WD vs 4WD
You won't find the 4wd hose at a parts store. The original was a metal tube (they get rusty) with 4-6" of rubber hose on each end. The NAPA guy found me a nice hose that worked great, but the part number is gone now so I can't tell you what it is. I think I had to cut a few inches off of it to get it to fit properly. Take a look at the 2wd, but I don't think it will be right. Take a look at later model (73+) upper hoses too. Have your rig handy so you can see what might work.

Re: 2WD vs 4WD
I am pretty sure I told the parts guy to give me a 77 blazer one when I first bought my 69 and it fit perfectly(4x4).

Re: 2WD vs 4WD
my napa guy said that there was an "extra cooling" setup??? My bottom hose had two numbers. My 4x4 took the longer 23" shaped like a big "L". I haven't installed them yet so I can't guarantee the fit.

Re: 2WD vs 4WD
well now i have a new issue. The upper hose for the '73 fit perfect but the lowerr hose is way off. And it was the correct one for that year.
Can one of you that have a stock setup shoot a pic for me? Please!
