Re: all will fit ?????
The problem that Andy speaks of is the indentation for the grille on 69-72 Chevy fenders. The 67-68 Chevy and 67-72 GMC fenders do not have this indentation.

Re: all will fit ?????
so could i use 67 GMC fenders on my 71 chevy or no (because of the grill shape ?) im doing away with the marker lights so it sure would be nice to not have to weld up those holes.

Re: all will fit ?????
you cant (well.... fit properly) 67 fenders on a 71 chev.
67-68 chev and GMC fenders are the same and interchange for those years .....still remember that there is no marker light hole on a 67 though. now think 68 chev or gmc fenders fitting upward years only GMC's (69-72) again 67 have no marker light. but even a 67 chev fender will fit for any year 67-72 GMC..but without a marker. its the 69-72 Chev fenders that are recessed in the front forward edge to accept the grill surround style of the 69-72 chevy grills..while the gmc fenders trim in the accessorized gmc's used fender eyebrow systems, which just mount by holes in the front fender edge.

Re: all will fit ?????
The fenders from a 67-68 Chevy or 67-72 GMC will work but the problem you will have is that the 71 Chevy grill won't work with those fenders, at least not without modification.
67 Chevy & GMC 68 Chevy & 68-72 GMC 69-72 Chevy Notice that there is no ridge on the 67 Chevy/GMC fender and that there is a ridge on the front of the 69-72 Chevy fender that the other members mentioned. Last edited by Chevyman680063; 09-01-2006 at 02:26 AM. |

Re: all will fit ?????
Ok i'm a bit lost too i don't mean to hijack this thread but are 67 gmc and 67 chev fenders interchageable. Reason i ask is my friend wants to make a 67 gmc a 67 chev

Re: all will fit ?????
67 to 67, yes.
it's easier to look at it by part numbers; 67 chevy and GMC... one part number 68 chevy and 68 - 72 GMC ...one part number 69 - 72 chevy and NO gmc trucks ... one part number. |

Re: all will fit ?????
The differences have been listed accurately. But,the answer is "all will fit."They will bolt to the cab and core support,no matter which fender you use. But,fitting a hood or grille is where the differences matter.Core supports are also different in Chevys:67/68 & 69/72(like fenders, hood, and grille)/in GMCs:The core support is the same. The difference in cores is in the headlight locations.
