Painting the dash --- clear coat?
When painting the dash of a old pickup, are people using clear coat on the inside of the cab (door steps, dash, etc) as well, or just the outside? I'm probably 3 months from my cab being ready for paint, but I wanted to ask while it's on my mind...

Re: Painting the dash --- clear coat?
If you're using a base-coat clear-coat "system" you have to use the clear or it will be very dull, ugly, and unprotected. I'm not planning to keep the top of the dash glossy no matter what paint I use. I'll either add a flattener when I clear that area or sand it flat. Or glue down some flat looking covering. You don't want reflections in your windshield.
