Backspacing question?
I'm gonna order 15x10's for the back but i need the backspacing so they wont stick way out of the bed and look goofy. the tires are 295-75's. i wanna keep them nicely tucked within the bed

Re: Backspacing question?
I am pretty sure my Cragar's are 4.25" backspacing and they are 15X10's.
Here's the best shot that will give you a profile of that. Someone will be able to verify that is the correct backspacing though - it is standard. ![]() |

Re: Backspacing question?
I measured some 15x10s on the back of my truck (Havent bought the correct ones yets). For the WIDEST tires I could find that would fit under the bed, I came up with 5 1/2 inches of backspacing to tuck the wheel under the bed, but not mess up the look (track width). For the front I came up with 15x7s with 3 1/2 inches OR 15x8 with 4 1/2 inches, depending on your preferences.
Heres a link to the tires Im gonna use, and the mock up wheels I was using. http://web.mac.com/jason_hall/iWeb/T...or%20sale.html Jason ________ Eating disorders advice Last edited by Jayss109; 04-27-2011 at 11:40 PM. |

Re: Backspacing question?
If you can get your hands on a set of 15x10s, bolt them up and start measuring. Those tires that I want are actually 14 inches wide at the bulge. So I measured where the bulge would be in relation to the body, and that how I got my measurements.

Re: Backspacing question?
I put some Impala SS wheels on which are 17x8.5 with 5.125 backspace. The tire I have on the rim is close to the inside of the inner wheelwell on a fleetside. I don't think I would go any more than that...they might rub around corners. If you do get them on post some pics...

Re: Backspacing question?
5 inch back spacing seems to be about right , but with the factory panard bar ( coil spring)the rear axle may not be centered between the wheel wells, so check that first.

Re: Backspacing question?
I didn't see a year mentioned, but the 67-69 rears are about 3/4 inch narrower on each side than the 71-72 rears, 70 could be either. That 3/4 inch can be made up in the offset if you have an earlier rear.
