Need Pricing Advice - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

This is NOT an attempt at selling something.

Some of you know that my mom died the first of Sept. My sister and I are trying to tie up her loose ends and she had a 72 C-10. I have someone locally who is very interested, but do not know how to price it. I need some estimates from you. So, Mods., please do not interpret this as a way to skirt selling rules, because I just need to know how to price this thing to a local buyer. However, if you do feel a need to remove this post, I understand. I am long-time site member.

The truck:
1972 C-10. Long wheel base, 2-wheel drive. All original. Very good condition. Original paint (light blue) is chalky. Bed is little used; was a town-kept truck with an aluminum topper on it. Tail gate is very good. Very little rust overall -- just minor surface rust in a couple of lower panels, except rockers, which should be replaced. 350/350. Power steering and brakes. Factory air (all there but does not work). Original upholstery has one tear in it under driver's butt. Has spent most of the last 15 years (maybe longer) in a garage. Mom probably didn't put 500 miles on it the past 6-7 years.

I have a 69 C-10 that was my dad's, or I'd keep it. Mom bought the 72 after dad died in 1988. What is it worth?

Without pictures.... anywhere from $1,500 to $3,000??? probably closer to the 2K range. For that price, I'd keep it

I own a couple of my brothers vehicles out of sentamental value, so I understand if you need to sell. Sorry for your loss.

Give me a ring at 479-263-3326. I'm in Springdale and I'd like to look at the truck. The value will depend greatly on options, condition etc... If it's a low mile Cheyenne Super with a big block etc... it will be of significantly more value than a 6 cylinder plain Jane with 3 on the tree. There are a number of dealers around our area who would welcome the opportunity to bid on the truck so maybe auction it off ? Just a thought, Dean

He said "butt",heh heh-heh heh...I`d say if it`s runnin`good,doesn`t leave puddles,and tires are good...$2,500.It`s an a/c truck that sounds pretty solid,straight,and original.I`d be willing to drop a bit,say,to the $1,800-2,000 range.You gotta figure the guy came to you,right?If so,it`s a pretty hassle-free easy sale.I`d consider that in.

Thanks for your input. I think its a $2500 truck. Maybe I'll get some pics of it.
I really would like to keep it. But, I have in the driveway the 69 C-10 that was my dad's, that I put back together, and a 67 C-10 torn apart in the garage that my 19-year-old son is working on. Every time I suggest we keep it, my wife gets kinda bug-eyed. My oldest son expressed interest in it and his wife got that same look! Plus, since mom just passed, it'd be kinda tough looking at for a while. Anyway, I mentioned it was gonna be for sale to a few folks and one is pretty serious about it. Thanks again.
