Door molding, need a little help
Put new door weather stripping on the doors and now they are hard to close. Any one experience this problem with the after market gaskets? What was the remedy? I no longer have the old ones as they were ripped beyond repair. Any advise on this problem would be greatly appreciated....bossrod

Re: Door molding, need a little help
bossrod,
The doors on my 67 closed hard so I loosened the hinge bolts on the door and adjusted them out a little. Do the top hinge first and be sure to scribe a mark (Fine Felt Tip) on the top and end of the hinge so you can see how much you have moved it. You only need to move the door out about 1/16" . Hold the hinge up when you tighten the bolts to remove any slop in it. Do the same on the door latch striker plate. LockDoc

Re: Door molding, need a little help
I have not put the weather strips on my truck yet but I have put them on my bird and it took a good couple of weeks for them to break in

Re: Door molding, need a little help
Thanks guys, I'll have to give it a try. I really don't have much room to move, but if only a 1/16" made a difference then I'll give it a go.

Re: Door molding, need a little help
I have the same problem and they have been on 2 years. I tried adjusting the door but then it sticks out. I spoke to another guy who cut his off so the would close better. This is on a 64 but im sure its the same. Wondering if there are any other suggestions out there HELP
