Plastic Case w/pic ?
Finally got around to getting a pic to post with the case I questioned about a few days ago. Have not a clue of it's original purpose or use but sure works well to carry the "hands free" cell phone mike. If I remember correctly I got it out of an '85 or '86 Suburban. Anyone have an idea of what it is?

Re: Plastic Case w/pic ?
I would guess it is aftermarket or a dealer promo/ giveaway. Looks to be similar to one of those waterproof cases for the beach/ boat. I have no actual idea of it's true orgin, just my guess.

My wife got one at the Scuba Diving shop where she got her diving lisence. Water tight so you can stash all your cash and valuables in wile swimming.

Re: Plastic Case w/pic ?
It was a Chevy promo item, but I can't remember what came in it. Just like the cool gloves that came with the late 90's trucks for changing flats. They were the cloth gloves with bumpies on the front for grip. They had a bowtie on the back.

Re: Plastic Case w/pic ?
Thanks for the replys on the case. Guess it is not possible to try and order another one from a dealer. Just have to keep an eye in the salvage yards and at swap meets. Sure works well for cell phone headset storage and it is even used in my wife's Suburban.

It's original purpose was to be able to protect your money in case your suburban ever sank. As they said, I've seen them all over from boating stores to dive shops, so you can find them... not with the chevy logo on it, but if you don't care about that, you can find them... Ok, I went to amazon and found this... http://www.amazon.com/Witz-Waterproo...sporting-goods pretty close if again, you don't care about the chevy logo. |
