67-72 K10/20 owners, please read.
hey guys... i post much more often on pirate 4X, but i do some very cool mods, that i think a lot of guys on this board would appreciate.
things like 52" front spring swap, 1 ton axle swap, larger front upper shackle hangers, firewall modifications... but, i'm not the most dilligent at taking pictures throughout my progress. i especially suck at taking pictures right at the begining, when i'm just unbolting things and drilling out rivets. SOOO... if anyone has pictures of the following things, i'd really appreciate it if you could Email them to me at senatorfrisky@excite.com or just post 'em up here. pics should all be of 67-72 K10/20 - outside pics of frame-rails from the body mount forward. please have as little bolted on as possible. (it would be great if the shock and shackle was out of the way) close-ups of the shock mount, and shackle bushing assembly would be appreciated. - any and all angles of the front spring hanger. i especially need to see the rivets that attach it to the rad support bracket and the frame. (also would be excellent if the spring was out of the way) - i'll update this list as i complete sections of the write-up, and of course i'll post detailed descriptions of the modifications with pics included, for you guys to sticky, or do what you want with... thanks much, -ian

How's your rebuild coming. I sold the bike for 7200 and banked it. Now in process of trying something with a 83 3/4 6.2 and a 68 burb

Re: 67-72 K10/20 owners, please read.
i'm in the middle of my build right now, so finished product pictures (and really... when is the truck ever FINISHED?!?!?) will be a while off still.
i'm in the middle of a 2" drop spring hanger, 52" spring swap, larger FUSH (Front Upper Shackle Hanger), 7.25" Shackles... all greasable and polyurethane... oh and ford shock towers for a 14" travel rancho shocks. that will shore up the front suspension. which will sit firmly on a Dana HP60 front axle pushed 1.5" forward with a zero-rate. rear suspension will be a shackle flip, revolver shackles, 63" spring swap. rear axle is a Dana HD70 then a diesel, then a 4L80E, then 44"s. do you guys want me to post a build thread on this site too?

pirate4x4.com it is a website.
with forums. where people make newbies cry for asking dumb questions.. basically, if you don't know how to calculate a 4 link suspension, you're just going to get a hard time. and the members aren't shy about letting people have a piece of their mind. it's for the hardcore rockcrawling guys

It's the opposite of this place, other than the info to be found.

Re: 67-72 K10/20 owners, please read.
Here is a link to various pics I have from when I had my truck apart. Unfortunately I don't think the pics will be very helpful. I left the pics large so there would be as much detail as possible.
My truck has a bodylift at this point so I can probably get you some better pics now that I know what your are needing. I will try to take some specific frame shots in the next few days and get them posted.

I added alot of pics I took this morning in the above link. The new pics start out frame01.jpg and there are like 25 or so new pics. Let me know if they are helpful or if there is something else you need better pics of.

if you are going to sing the praises of pirate, you better at least warn people to keep simple questions to the NEWB section and read every article in the tech section before they ask a stupid question. people come to pirate because the average pirate member knows A LOT. but we get annoyed with people asking the same newb questions over and over in our hard-core-tech forums. just something to think about before you send the lambs to their slaughter

I agree. We do not need any of the activity or words they use to start up on this forum...............please!!!!!
Their format is not anything at all like ours and even the mention of it here is disturbing. |

As I said earlier, attitude wise they are the opposite of the guys here. And it's gonna stay that way. If you wanna be rude, do it somewhere else. vtblazer is right about another thing, pissing matches will be closed.

Here's an example of the difference between pirate and here. This would NEVER happen over there. If you like their attitude better, fine, but don't bring it here.
