We Need "STICKY" Post for GM Part Numbers
I think this section and the other main sections as well, need a sticky thread for nothing but GM part numbers for our Trucks.
Alot of the 73-87 parts are still available from GM. When customers order parts from restoration companies, such as LMC, Chevy Duty, the GM part numbers would be helpful to have for the next person if the part was an original GM part. And alot of times, you can take this number to your local GM Parts Dept and order the part number yourself for less than it would cost to order it from the restoration companies. If you had the part number then there wouldn't be an excuse for the parts counter help not to be able to fine the part in their computer. Maybe if we get enough, then they could be grouped according to a basic area of the vehicle. Like ENGINE, WEATHERSTRIP, DASH & RELATED, ELECTRICAL, etc. I will post some numbers this weekend for some common parts that someone is bound to need sooner or later! By the way, in the Classic Industries catalog, every part number that begins with a GM is a direct from GM part! FYI |
