33's -ride better, cheaper, easier to get in/out of truck, easier to balance.
35's -look better, go futher, look better, go futher.
Also consider what gear ratio you have and how the tire height will affect it.
If it's not your daily driver....35's for sure! If it is...see above.

wow sweet truck! what you got for a tranny and motor? tbi 350? Also i have not been down to texas that much but how is the Wheeling down there? IF you like it and do it often i would go for 35's and maybe a regear. I sish i could wheel a fullsize like that up here but trails are really tight and body damge is enevidable with the tight trails up here. IF it is gonna see some Daily drivin a 33 set might be better for reasons stated aboove. But if your seriouse about wheeling or just want that nice look i would go with the 35's and really think about regearing. Good luck and nice find

It is a 87 3/4 ton 4x4, turbo 400, tbi 350 with 4:10 gears. Even the radio is still original and works like new. I do drive it to work everey day but its only about 12 miles, and I do like to play in the mud everey chance I get.

4:10's and ya drive 12 miles to work....

....that being the case, def. go with the 35's

Yeah, I would have to agree. The 35's will work well with the 4.10's and might even get better mileage. Besides as heavy as that truck is, 33's aren't going to get you very far off road....

So, does that mean the larger/taller the tire the slower the differencial turn? It's like the taller tires act as if it has overdrive. I'm learning I hope.

If that truck were a shortbed 1/2 ton, I would say 4" and 33s would be a good combination, however, with a longbed 3/4 ton, 4.10s and a TH400, I think 6" and 35's are mandatory.

Also, a little off track, but have you guys noticed a new interest in the 73-87 genre trucks recently? They seem to be becoming more desirable all the way from bashers to low mileage creampuffs like this one here. I am on other forums, and it just seems like people are getting more excited about them.

I'd go with 4" and 35's. some fit, some don't, but I go for a lower center of gravity on my rig. If muddin's your thing, go with the 6" and 35's. 4.10's are almost perfect for 35's. You wont be giving up much as 35's and 4.10's act similar to 31's and 3.73's.

The larger tires act like an overdrive allowing you to travel further per revolution of the tires.
