Dirkstruck are you still interested in those bucket seats for the panel van?

Re: 1953 Chev Panel Truck

I found one more bucket seat for the 53 panel truck I am doing a frame off resto. However it is missing the bottom cushion box spring. Other wise it is complete. I thought I could possible get away with using heavy foam with a plywood bottom. However I would be willing to hear what you have. Since I am trying to make as original as possible. I am also looking for front fenders that are better shape than the ones I have now. These will cost a bit to repair. I hear that after market ones will be availabe soon but they don't fit well. Thanks for any help.

Re: 1953 Chev Panel Truck

I read somewhere that the panel truck used the same bumper front and rear. might be worth checking into.

Ok I will try to get a pic today or the next. Ther is not much left of the seats for material though just springs and the base. I need some parts too so maybe we can trade. Sending you a pm

Re: 1953 Chev Panel Truck

Welp, Panels and Suburbans are the same. I have a Burb and I used the same bumper on the rear that I put on the front. You do have to have the correct rear bumper brackets. These are different than the pick up rear brackets and are a little harder to come by. I think you can still find them. You might check with "Mother Trucker" out in Arizona on these brackets, as he has a bunch of parts trucks out there. Or maybe "Iron Chief" since you are up in Canada.
