1962 Frames

What is or are the differences between the 62 and the rest (63 and up) frames. The reason I ask is for example: under bed fuel tanks. In the CPP cat. they offer a tank for 63 and up. Or Hidden hitch, again only 63 and up

Re: 1962 Frames

60-62 frames used torsion bars up front, it is mostly boxed, and they have a large x shape crossmember that runs the length of the chassis... a lot like the early impala chassis.

Re: 1962 Frames

Just this weekend i bought a tank out of a 85 blazer, for the local salvage yard, it looks like an easy conversion, and only paid 20.00 bucks for it.

Re: 1962 Frames

The '60-'62 frames are also wider in some areas, like behind the axle, and have different front cab mounts.
