Power Steering
Forgive me for not posting in the Blazer forum but this one gets more traffic. I just bought a '73 Blazer and I need to install power steering. I went to the local junkyard with my LMC catalog for reference and found a few with the boxes and in some cases tilt coumns in decent shape.
My question is what year range of power steering boxes (Blazers, Burbs, trucks) will work on my '73? The LMC catalog shows different part numbers for boxes in the mid 70s and 80s but they all look the same to me...maybe something to do with the input? If that IS the case could I just get a complete setup from the steering wheel to the box and bolt it on? Thanks for the help!

Re: Power Steering
it should be 73-86 but there will be differences in what type of hoses will work. I am not sure of the year split but they went to metric threads and o-rings in the later model.
Using a complete change over will make things easier and just remember what year the donor is for furture reference. |
