Re: axle help

semi floating axle

open the diff cover and drain oil,
remove cross pin retaining bolt and cross pin,
push in on the axle shaft and pull the clip remove axle shaft,
pull seal out replace reverse first steps.

full floating axle

jack up one side of the axle but not the other, keeps the oil in th eaxle while you work,
remove the axle shaft bolts and the shaft,
remove wheel spindle nuts and rotating hub,
pull the oil seal off the back of the hub and replace...............................

front axle,

complete and absolute dissasembly, no way around it.

Re: axle help

okay here we go again,i put the rear together noticed that one of the spacers that go on the spider gears was cracked.does any one have one that i can get?it looks like it's been cracked for awhile,i have a 88 burb 1/2 ton,373 gears,it's a 10 bolt rear.i know that you can't buy just the spacer without buying the gears.so any help will be greatly appreciated.
