Re: what do you guys think about this one ?

The modified rear end would make me suspect it is a converted 4wd. If it is original 2wd, the modifications drop the value in my opinion. Either way, I wouldn't think it is worth more than $4,000 because it appears to be missing a lot an need a lot of work. Keep in mind, this is base on the photos and the description. It may actually be nicer than it looks in the photos.

Re: what do you guys think about this one ?

Figure out if it is an original 2wd as that helps in the value determination. The biggest thing to me is how is the body? Straight? Hidden rust? A majority of time and/or money could be spent fixing the body.

Re: what do you guys think about this one ?

As far as the 2wd or 4wd thing that is not a big deal and this is why. It does not have a stock motor, trans or rear end so it is not a stocker even if it does have a C vin. These are all up grades in my mind if they were done right and add value IF you are not looking for a stocker or one to return to stock. Yes it is nice to be able to say it is a factory 2wd but unless you are going stock that is all it is! Now if you are looking for a cool street rod this looks like a good start. One just sold at the good guys show in Ca. last weekend (I did not see it) and was told it was nice but not great and needed some work and went for about $15k. When I bought my 70 2WD this year I paid $2K for it but it needs almost every panel replaced, all the interior, motor, trans and disk brakes. But I bought it for a company project that I will be starting soon so it will pay for it self. Also I do all the needed work it requires so I am only out parts and time and I will end up with a 100% rust free shell when I am done.

So when you go look at this one,

First know what you want to end up with!

Check all the typical rust spots for these year trucks/blazers.

Step back and chack all body lines and body gaps (doors, gate, hood and so on).

Open and shut the doors, hood and gate and see how well they do or do not shut. With the door open grab teh end of the door and lift up slighty and check for door sag from rust, old hinges or fatigued metal.

Bring a floor jack and look under the blazer real well. I just worked on a board members Blazer a few months ago and it looked good from 20', ok from 5' and totaled from under the body. It had been hit so hard in the front that the frame had been broke off and patched back on and it was not done very well. Also look at the frame around the exhaust area because they may have clearanced the frame abit to get things to all fit. While you are under the blazer look at the back side of the rockers because if they have been replaced you should see signs from this point. You will also be able to see if the floor has been or needs to be patched.

Then look at all the parts he has to go with it and see if the mounting brackets, bolts and misc. all seem to be their. This adds up quick if you are missing alot of little items.

Then check out the top for cracks and damage. This is not a deal breaker but good tops can be hard to find and old fiber glass is not easy to work with once the UV's have gotten to it.

Now with all that being said I say it is worth around what he is asking just going by the pics and what you have said. The question is it worth it to you because at the end of the night that is all that matters. Remember to make a list of questions you have for him and a check list of what you want to look at because once you get their you will forget half of what you had.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Re: what do you guys think about this one ?

i looked at the blazer today it has rust in one door and a little in one quarter panel , other than that its really clean , the top is in rough shape. over all it needs alot of work , wiring , imterior , seats . etc .

Tell him you have 4500.00 cash and to call you if he is interested in making a deal. Seems a little high, or , tell him to install the big block and get it running and you will give him the 6500.00

Re: what do you guys think about this one ?

Rust-free IMO is #1. I look at it this way:

Junk 2wd Blazers go for $1,500-2k.
Built 454- about the same.
If it runs and drives AND has very little rust it's worth in the $5k range to me.

Finding all the little stuff will nickle-and-dime you to death, depending on what all you need. Mine is missing nearly all of the little trim pieces and parts

btw- Mine is what I would consider a nice truck, converted from 4-wheel, but runs and drives like new (I daily drive it) I paid about as much for it as you would on that one. The amount of attention these things get is incredible and worth the steep buy-in.

OK. You twisted my arm... These pics are older, but give you a good idea of what it looked like when I bought it. The top was included too and is bolted back on now that it is cold again. It is as rust free as you will find. -Chris

Re: what do you guys think about this one ?

I see no reason to pay full $ amount for a original 2wd if you plan on modifying it anyway. I think you got a good deal gringoloco. That is a nice looking truck. Do you have wheels on it like in your avitar or is that a photoshop of how you want it?

Agreed. I wanted a 2-wheeler so badly I was thinking of buying a nice 4wd and converting it myself. Just so happened to find this one fairly close and the leg work was already done.

The bags are in the garage waiting for other projects, but it's next. I will be adding trailing arms(yes I will take pictures) and the wheels will go on as soon as I get the alignment set at the ride height I want.

Thanks for the compliments guys. Hope you find what you're lookin' for Tom. -Chris

No good interior pics. It's just 67-72 truck bench that's been re-covered...
