If I wanted to add power brakes what all would I have to do? I'm under the impression that all I have to add is a booster behind the master cylinder. Is there anything else I would have to do?

Just make sure you get the whole setup between the brake pedal and the master(clevis pin & rod, bell crank, bracket, rod for booster, booster & rod for master).
Then very carefully move your master cyl forward far enough to get the bracket and booster in without kinking the brake lines.

If your suspension is stock that should be correct. Be sure and get the firewall mounting bracket and all linkage with the booster.

So how much do you think all of this cost if I were to get it new? Do you think if I picked some of it up at a salvage yard that it would be any good or is it something you have to buy new?

Did mine recently, bought here on the parts board, I think like $50. If you get the whole set-up here or the salvage yard, you can get a rebuilt booster from the parts house and use the old one for a core.

Except for the booster itself none of those parts are likely to be found new.

What year booster are you planning on getting? I think the 71-72 boosters will bolt up to your truck, but I'm not sure about later years. I just did this with a booster/m.c. from a 79 and the brackets and rod length had to be modified to fit. It's not a lot of work if you have a shop, but my shop is the great outdoors so it presented a few problems.
