Wood Bed, board dimensions etc, questions
I am looking to replace my wood bed, does anyone know the dimensions of the groove in the wood for the hold-down strips? I found a web sit that this the board widths so i have that covered.
Thanks, Mike |

Re: Wood Bed, board dimensions etc, questions
GMCPauls.com, and Mar-K.com both give all of the wood info needed for using their own strips, just don't mix them. I used GMCPaul's info with my aftermarket unknown brand stainless strips, and had to go back and change the widths and depths of the grooves.

Re: Wood Bed, board dimensions etc, questions
Hey Southshore54, I assume you have a '54. Chevrolet or GMC? The parts are harder to come by(Hood emblem, bed sides, grille, etc.). Let me know if you need any help. I know I'm on the opposite coast here in Cali, but I can keep my eyes open. I'm constantly surfing ebay for our year specific trucks. The chassis is different too, believe it or not???? If you want you can feel free to email me @ dumphy180@hotmail.com If I can help, I will. BTW, What direction are you going with your '54. Mines gonna be a mild custom with as many factory GM parts. Feel free to check out my build thread below.... Daniel U

Re: Wood Bed, board dimensions etc, questions
There used to be a webpage , and I lost the link to it. It showed the board patterns for chevy, ford and dodge. It also gave the bed lengths, board widths and so on for every year that had wooden floor beds in it. Like I said I lost the link, but it was on this board where I saw it.
