Van tilt ???
Does anyone have picture of what the column looks like under the steering wheel? Does it have the retainer, or is the nut the retainer? Thank in advance. I searched couldnt find anything.

Re: Van tilt ???
After the wheel is removed you will find the horn contact/turn cancel cam. Under that is a spring and then the turn signal switch. There is an odd sized fine thread nut on the column stub that regulates the slop. It requires an odd size and VERY deep socket. It is almost easier to remove the turn signal to access this nut.
Somewhere on the forum is a blow-up diagram of the column.

Re: Van tilt ???
No PITA retainer plate. I have the special tool to remove the plate and it is still difficult.

Re: Van tilt ???
you talking about the lock plate?
only a column with a locking steering wheel will have a lock plate. You can remove the lock plate w/out the depressor tool... but I have yet to reinstall it without the tool though. (yes, I do own one) |

It's a catastrophic success.
