AD cab beltline seam???

There is a pretty decent gap between the cab roof and cab back panel and the beltline. I've been wondering how the seam is supposed to be finished on my 51. Was there origianlly body caulk applied to this seam?

Re: AD cab beltline seam???

I can check on my dad's cab this weekend, his is pretty much as original. Maybe I can snap a few pics for you.

Also whats up with the Camaro? I looked at you site and yours looks alot like mine...lol. Maybe the same guy hacked the inner rocker on both cars. I fixed mine a couple of weeks ago if you want a couple of pictures I have them on the computer at home and I can e-mail them to you. I am almost done with the floors and then on to the truck and then I will start the fun stuff like quarters and door skins.

I'd appreciate that!

As for the Camaro, the full story is documented here.

But I hope to transfer all of that to the cardomain site soon!

Thanks! Did you have any rust between the panel flanges? If so, how did you get to it?

Re: AD cab beltline seam???

I heard of lots of truck guys use the paintable seam fillers before.Don't know how happy they were with it. I suppose if you wired brushed (if you can get to it ) real good ,it would be ok.Now,some people are more fussy than others ... .. & Happy Holidays !

Sand blasted it the best I could and then applied POR-15 prior to applying the paintable same sealer. Give each step them plenty of time to dry.

I can't figure why they ever put a bolted together seam like that when the rest of the top is spot welded.
