dynamat worth it or not?
i'm getting ready to roll on my big winter project of installing a vintage air sure fit.i'm wondering if while i've got it all tore apart if dynamat or similar is really worth the cost? thought it might help with insulation on the air.and quite it down some.but i don't want to lose my flowmaster sound system altogether.

Re: dynamat worth it or not?
I plan on doing mine, but maybe with ram mat or something a little less expensive than dynamat, they are too much$. Many other brands just as good for less $.
It does make a difference. |

Worth it IMO, others have agreed it was worth their time.

Re: dynamat worth it or not?
related question...
Ive got small speaker enclosures in the cab corners behind the seat with 6X9s. Would Dynomat or simialier inside that enclosure help create some bass? It doesnt sound bad....just could use more bass.

Re: dynamat worth it or not?
Bass---No, the speaker is only good for a certain level of performance, whther it is a tweeter, mid range speaker or a sub.
the dynomat will take away the reverberation of the speaker, but the bass will no truly be enhanced. Size, power and a crossover network will get the bass out to your ears. You might want to look at an "EPICENTER" bass enhancer (made by Audio Control)for your vehicle. It takes what is generated by the head unit and can return the bass sounds that are left out by the electronics. I have acouple of them and they do an excellent job. |

Re: dynamat worth it or not?
maybe thats what Im really looking at is the reverbaration. its using the cab corner as most of the speaker box, so really like mounting a speaker in a metal can. the speakers are fine, its a decent amp & and an old crappy head Craig head unit from the 80s. Im sure my best bet would be a new reciever. John

Re: dynamat worth it or not?
try brown bread , its allso a brand of dampeningmat i've heared its cheaper too
stepside if you want more bas the best way is to get a good 10 inch woofer in a big enough box http://www.decware.com/dbk10.htm , its enough to make the soundlevel go up too when you take the bas frequensies out of the smaller speakers i've seen desighns of "hornloaded" boxes to get small speakers do low notes but its not practical to fit intoo a pickupcab

Re: dynamat worth it or not?
I personally like FatMat better than Dynamat. Its thicker and it adhesive. You can find it on Ebay. I used it on my Diesel project to stop the noise in the cab. It works great and its priced right.

Re: dynamat worth it or not?
Take a look at this thread- Link It has a lot of info and more links regarding sound deadener. I highly recommend using Brown Bread by B-Quiet. It is cheaper than Dynamat and has tested to be much more effective.
Currently my doors and door panels are done on my 77 Cheyenne. After Christmas I plan to do the rest of the interior.
