Re: final assembly begins! 51 GMC

sorry for the quality, not sure how to make the pics any bigger.
I used a "4 way" I built to lift the cab, works great for the bed too.
Been a productive weekend!!
Below is a thread that I have been posting pics of the chassis work.

Re: final assembly begins! 51 GMC

Where is the bed going?
When I saw the C notch I thought you were going with a stock bed ( I was wondering about the differential hitting)
Now with the exhaust?
How much higher will it be?
Just wondering
Thanks

Thumbs up Re: final assembly begins! 51 GMC

What type of front end or IFS did you use? Just curious as to why you didn't choose disc brakes for the rear? I must say everything looks good, can't wait til I am that far on my 54!

I grafted an 84 "G" body front clip on the stock 51 frame. There are a few pics of the clip instl. on this thread

Since posting these pictures I have purchased a Wilwood rear disc brake kit. Had to wait to get some more money saved.
Haven't had time to post any updated pictures lately. Hopefully this weekend I will be able to.

Re: final assembly begins! 51 GMC

Updating the build thread, getting a little closer.
Been trying to get the Vintage Air system installed along with the wiring. What I thought was alot of space got real small when stuffing th A/C unit.
Unit is a Gen. 2 compac unit. Forgot to take a pic of the controls mounted in the glove box.
