A/C Switch intermittent
When I first bought my truck, the AC compressor would click on. Last week, it stopped. Saturday, I checked the fuse and it was good. Later that afternoon, it came back on.
I tried to turn in on this morning and it wouldn't come on. I know it's low in freon because it hasn't been changed over. Any ideas? |

Re: A/C Switch intermittent
if the freon is low, it wont turn on, low pressure switch as well as a high pressure switch

Re: A/C Switch intermittent
But why would it work one day, stop the next, and start again the next day? That's what puzzled me.

Re: A/C Switch intermittent
Warmer temperature will make the pressure higher and close the pressure switch, try unplugging the pressure/cycling switch on the accumulator/dryer and jump across both wires of the connector with a paper clip and see if compressor comes on. If it does then you are low on freon or have a bad switch.

Re: A/C Switch intermittent
Connection on resistors or relay under the hood mounted on AC box. The wire/connector tends to burn.
