Got The Freebie '72 home
-
I was talkin' to a guy that builds '57 Chevys the other day and he was tellin' me about this '57 Chevy he bought and the motor was junk so he pulled the motor out of his old '72 Chevy pickup to put in it. I asked him what he was going to do with the rest of the truck and he said "junk it". I said, don't do that I will buy what's left from you and he said if you want it come and get it..... I did, today. It's a kind of rusty Custom 20 but there are a lot of good parts on it and it has a title. LockDoc

1BadSS,
I'm not going to do anything with it 'till spring....But that is one of the things I need. The brakes still work on it. LockDoc

Re: Got The Freebie '72 home
It's a bed liner... First one I've seen for these trucks. Maybe I've led a sheltered life????..

Re: Got The Freebie '72 home
free stuff is the best..id just put a motro in it and use it for a work truck or something like that...if you dont have to use ply wood for floorboards,,it has a lot of miles left in it..lol

Re: Got The Freebie '72 home
Joe67, I'm not 100% sure yet. I may do what 68GMC454 said. I have a spare 350/350 and the time. It depends on how rusty it is when I get to look at it close underneath. I'm going to do that today.... If the frame is bad or I wouldn't feel safe driving it i'll part it, but I probably won't be doing anything 'till spring. It's been pretty nice here but one of these days it's going to dump on us....

definately let us know what you decide to do with it.
I gotta come down and get that frame from ya, and have no problem taking extra parts with me ![]()

I'll also slide over to the local salvage yard and take some pics of what he has. There may be something there you can use.... The frame will be here in the shop whenever you are ready for it. Try and come down when you can spend the night and I'll show you around the area. Bring the family with you, we have plenty of room for everybody..... My wife said she would even cook breakfast..... ![]() LockDoc
