Re: Who all has mounted newer seats in a burb
I've got bucket seats out of an 01' Silverado. Just drilled new holes and bolted them to the floor. Had to use spacers under the back to match the front hump in the floor. They are full electric, so I was able to then set the height how I wanted, but right in middle was very close to the stock bench height.

Quote:
I have read,in here, that the floor should be reinforced before bolting those seats in, because of the seatbelts being integral to the seat. In the event of an accident the load will be transferred from the seat to the floorboards, unlike our original seatbelts being bolted separate from the seat. |

I traded a neighbor for these. Came out of a conversion van of some sort. Had swivel bases, but once I got those off, bolt holes lined up for the brackets that were on the panel wagon, not original. Preety easy, and really cofortable seats.

Re: Who all has mounted newer seats in a burb
I just used big washers on each side of the floor board. Plus the bolts are going through the same thick ( reinforced ) area of the floor as the stock seat bolts so I'm not too worried about it. Yes, the seat belt is integrated into the seat.

Re: Who all has mounted newer seats in a burb
Here's some before and after of the interior. Ty- I have a few pics of the engine but they came out blurry for some reason. I'll try to get some better ones and post those up tomorrow. Look for a new thread with them in it. In case any one was curious, that is the stock trans tunnel cover and it is removable still, without pulling the rest of the carpet.

Re: Who all has mounted newer seats in a burb
I just bought a roll of auto carpet and did it myself. $60 versus $350 was a no brainer. The wrinkles in the carpet is from the speaker and door wires underneath.

Re: Who all has mounted newer seats in a burb
I put 2001 Tahoe seat in mine. Like others, used hefty washers and as much of the original holes as I could. Had to drill new ones for the middle mounts, but the outside holes matched up pretty well.

Re: Who all has mounted newer seats in a burb
I used some out of a 2003 crew cab. I just drilled new holes for the fronts, the rear was no so easy, to get them back far enough for my liking I had to modify the seat frame and the floorboard.
