Project Lemon Drop Engine Color Poll?
Kevin has started the dismantle for paint prep and will return the frame and engine to me shortly.
I'm trying to decide what color to paint the motor. The entire engine compartment is going to be the same as the exterior color. The motor was also have many billet aluminum parts (pulleys, brackets, etc). I recall Chip Foose saying the opening the hood should be like opening a jewelery box and the motor was the jem. I was thinking of painting the motor yellow or a silver color. I have attached a pic of the exterior color. 1. Yellow 2. Silver 3. Black 4. Other (make a suggestion)

Re: Project Lemon Drop Engine Color Poll?
I voted silver since I think it would be snazzy, plus it allows for a lot of variety on accessories. You can use black, polished, chrome, or any other color with it you like.
But if it were my yellow truck, I would seriously consider doing it blue since I have always tended to settle on a yellow/blue combo for my projects. |

Re: Project Lemon Drop Engine Color Poll?
I painted mine silver. I wanted sort of a industrial look with no chrome.

Re: Project Lemon Drop Engine Color Poll?
I think the same yellow as the fender color would look killer. Chrome accesories would POP. Diamonds sparkle yellow (as well as other colors)
However, what color are the fender liners to be. I may change to black motor if they are body color arkracing...I likey the white shorties on that motor. PITA to keep clean I bet.

Re: Project Lemon Drop Engine Color Poll?
The mustang that Boyd built that was yellow with silver ralley stripes had a silver engine to go with the stripes and contrast the yellow engine compartment and highlight any chrome or billet accessories. That is how I plan on doing mine.
