[ POST PICS PLEASE!!! ] SHOCK mounting for lower'd trucks

It seems im having a problem with my rear shocks, when i hit bumps At ride height, it hits harder than it should, i have airbags. and if i air up my system it always "settles" at a certain height, ive checkd for leaks, but have none, and it always "settles" at the same spot.

im concern'd that i didnt mount my shocks right, how do you guys, mount your rear shocks, for lower'd trucks, with airbags?

Do you have a check valve? Sounds like your bags might be back filling into the tank.

I used the CPP shock relocators. They are mounted a lot move vertical than they would be on the stock mounts.

OK, #1: Shocks don't control the height of the vehicle, they simply dampen the "up & down motion" when the vehicle is going over bumps and such. They control the rebound and spring rate, so your problem of the truck "settling" is not due to your shocks. (Unless you are running air shocks).

2. If your truck settles at a certain point, something is wrong with the way you plumbed your air system. Like Jimmydean said, your bags could be backfeeding into the tank. Are you running a pressure gauge for your tank and/or bags? How many valves are you running, give us all the details of your system (the more info the better) and we can try to run down possibilities for you.

Oh, here's a pic for you of my rear shock mounting. I am using CPP shock relocators to achieve a more desirable shock angle:

Re: [ POST PICS PLEASE!!! ] SHOCK mounting for lower'd trucks

i have no tank, compressor or valves, i have my stuff plumbed, to a schrader valve.

and when i hit bumps it hits hard, it doesnt Dampen, at all hardly, at the Shocks, reccommended rideheight, it still hits.(doesnt dampen)

and my shock mounts are very vertical, i made brackets myself and welded them on the frame, and trailing arms.

i feel i mounted them wrong for some reason,
i would like people to post how their shocks were mounted.

Do you have a c-notch? Sounds like your axle may be hitting the frame. What are you using to fill your bags with? Might not be getting enough pressure to fill them adequately, hence the reason for it settling. Is it settling on the bumpstops? Or the frame maybe? Or, maybe your shocks don't have enough travel length, so they are bottoming out? Can you get under your truck and snap a pic to show us what you're dealing with?

What is the extended length of the shocks? What's the fully compressed length?
What's the shock length @ the ride height where you experience this issue?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.
