Question for sound guys
Can anyone recommend a 10" sub that is good for Rock music. I want the hard base hits, not the low echo type. Sealed box preferred and in the price range of say $300
Thanks, Chad |

The IDMax is about $399 and the IDQ is about $159 for the 10-inch versions

Re: Question for sound guys
Nope, but I can say I competed for 10 years IASCA and USAC using only 10's
![]() IMHO, you can get better acoustics out of a 10" vs. a 12", 13", 15", etc......

Re: Question for sound guys
JL Audio is all you ever need for subs.
10W1v2-4 10W1v2-8 amp 2 of them right and you can't lose.

Re: Question for sound guys
I will be using a pair of Kicker 10" L7 squares. I might end up using a pair of 8's, but I will run the 10's if I have the room.
I'm still a few months out from a stereo, I want the weather to heat up so I can do some fiberglass work. |

Re: Question for sound guys
I have had great luck with a 10" Cerwin Vega "free air" sub. No box required.

I'm a huge fan of JL also. Been using them for years.

Re: Question for sound guys
Have a buddy all up in the audio gear, we've built a killer system in his car for about 3k, custom racks, enclosures, massive amps, etc - all JL audio. I got a pair of IDQ 10's from him, driving them with a sound stream amp - in my truck - I have about 1200 total in my system and it kicks his system all over the place (for the price difference). The IDQs are fricken awesome!, hard hitting and quick and sharp - none of that -bllloommmpff stuff you get with the bigger sizes.... and that's my limited .02.
